VOV celebrates the opening of its national radio-station centre

Hanoi (VNA) – Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV) on May 18 celebrated the opening of its
national radio-station centre by starting a new television channel and a radio
station for drivers interested in knowing where the traffic problems are.

The 14-storey centre at Hanoi ’s Quan Su Street has been built over the
last two years. It has been built as a memorial construction to mark the 1,000 th
birthday of Hanoi next year.

The centre is equipped with international-standard facilities, including function
rooms, a theatre and two studios for recording.

The new TV channel, analogue-based VOV TV, is for the wider community. The
radio station, FM 91MHz, offers drivers advice on traffic flows around the capital
city. It is fed by more than 100 cameras around Hanoi .

Speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Duc
Kien, praised VOV as one of the nation’s leading media agencies.

He said it was a useful means of disseminating the policies of the Party and the
State.

VOV now broadcasts on five radio channels. It it has an e-newspaper (VOV News), a
newspaper (Voice of Vietnam) and VOV TV. The broadcasts cover 99 percent of
