President of Kyrgyzstan invites Turkish entrepreneurs to invest in Batken Oblast

Bishkek, Nov. 11, 2021 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov at a meeting with representatives of the Turkish business community in Istanbul, Turkey invited them to invest in Batken Oblast. The head of state told Turkish entrepreneurs about the special status of the oblast. He said that giving Batken Oblast a special status will improve the quality of life due to the socio-economic development of the region. This will enable business development, employment and regional development. The president added that in accordance with the legislation of the country, special preferential tax and investment regimes will operate on the territory of the oblast. He explained that entrepreneurs investing in the oblast are exempted from four types of taxes: property tax, land tax, income tax and sales tax. At the same time, customs duties on the import of industrial, useful and necessary goods will be reduced to 0%, and income tax - from 10% to 5%. The head of state also noted that Kyrgyzstan is interested in implementing joint projects aimed at expanding industrial cooperation, developing public-private partnerships, the agricultural sector, as well as mining and light industry, hydropower and other industries of mutual interest. He stressed that Turkish companies and entrepreneurs will be able to use all the opportunities available in Kyrgyzstan, actively invest in joint ventures that add value to the country, and can fully use the potential of Kyrgyz-Turkish cooperation. President Sadyr Zhaparov, in turn, is ready to provide comprehensive assistance in promoting the projects of Turkish investors. The head of state expressed confidence that this meeting will contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral trade and investment relations between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. During the meeting, representatives of the Turkish business community shared their views on increasing investment cooperation, and were interested in opportunities for investing in various sectors of the Kyrgyz economy. Turkish entrepreneurs have expressed interest in enhancing cooperation and implementing joint projects with Kyrgyzstan. The meeting with President Sadyr Zhaparov was attended by representatives of the largest companies in Turkey in the field of subsoil use, construction, energy, information technology, light industry, as well as healthcare and education.
