President Sadyr Zhaparov's working visit to Glasgow completed

Bishkek, Nov. 3, 2021. / Kabar / . Working visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Glasgow, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, which took place on Nov. 1-2, completed. The Kyrgyz leader took part in the opening of the World Leaders Summit of the 26th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and delivered a message. On the sidelines of the Summit, President Sadyr Zhaparov held bilateral meetings with leaders of a number of countries: Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, Prime Ministers of Canada Justin Trudeau, Iceland Katrin Jakobsdottir, India Narendra Modi, French President Emmanuel Macron, Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, President of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. Meetings were also held with heads of international financial institutions: President of the Islamic Development Bank Muhammed bin Sulaiman Al-Jasser, President of the Asian Development Bank Masatsugu Asakawa, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Odile Renaud-Basso and Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund Yannick Glemarec. The Summit included a reception for leaders and heads of delegations on behalf of the Royal Family of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. In addition, President Zhaparov met with Edward Palmieri, the Director of Global Sustainability at Facebook (Meta), and then delivered a virtual speech to Kyrgyz citizens at the pavilion of this largest social network. After completing his working trip, the Kyrgyz president returned to Bishkek on the morning of Nov. 3.
