Kyrgyz Ambassador Sydykov meets with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi

Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Islamic Republic of Iran Turdakun Sydykov presented credentials to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported. During the meeting held after the official part of the credentials presentation ceremony, Sydykov conveyed to Ebrahim Raisi the words of greetings and best wishes of success in his activities on behalf of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov. The ambassador informed the interlocutor about the current domestic political and economic situation in the country, the ongoing reforms and recent important events, as well as the upcoming parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan on Nov. 28, 2021. Sydykov emphasized the priority of trade, economic and investment cooperation and the importance attached by the top leadership to promoting economic diplomacy in the foreign policy of the Kyrgyz Republic. In this direction, he noted the prospects for the use of the transit and transport potential of the two countries, as well as the implementation of joint projects in energy, agriculture, processing industry and tourism. The ambassador also noted that next year Kyrgyzstan and Iran will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. In this context, he proposed the organization of reciprocal visits at high and highest levels, as well as joint activities to enhance bilateral trade and economic, investment and cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries in the anniversary year. In his turn, the Iranian leader congratulated Sydykov on the assumption of the post of Kyrgyz Ambassador to Iran, supported the need for practical implementation of plans in the priority areas of bilateral cooperation and assured of the readiness of the Iranian side to assist in the implementation of the diplomatic mission of the newly appointed Kyrgyz ambassador to Iran. Ebrahim Raisi expressed deep gratitude to the government of the Kyrgyz Republic for supporting Iran's candidacy to become a full member of the SCO. At the end of the meeting, the Iranian president conveyed his warm greetings and wishes for success to Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Zhaparov and expressed hope to meet with him in Tehran.
