Iran, Bahrain call for expansion of ties
Iran and Bahrain called for expansion of bilateral cooperation.
Iran’s Ambassador to Bahrain Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Bahraini Parliament Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmad al-Zahrani urged further cooperation between the two countries during their meeting on Sunday.
The two men also reviewed international and regional issues and explored ways to promote bilateral relations, especially in the parliamentary field.
Al-Zahrani said expansion of ties among regional countries, including Iran and Bahrain, would benefit all nations in the Middle East region.
He said Bahrain would spare no efforts to strengthen the parliamentary cooepration between the two nations.
Referring to the visit of his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani to Manama, Bahrain, al-Zahrani said Larijani’s recent visits to the regional countries including Oman and Yemen aimed to deepen regional relations.
The Bahraini Speaker further said such visits would help foil enemies’ plots to sow discord among the regional states.
Meanwhile, the Iranian ambassador stressed the need for exchange of visits between Iranian and Bahraini officials with the aim of boosting bilateral cooperation, and parliamentary ties in particular.
