Kyrgyzstan, Qatar discuss cooperation in halal industry

Bishkek, Sept. 27, 2021 . / Kabar / . Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan - Minister of Economy and Finance Akylbek Zhaparov met on Friday with Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Kyrgyzstan Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Sulaiti on Sept. 24 in Bishkek. Akylbek Zhaparov noted that the Ministry of Economy and Finance attaches great importance to further strengthening and expanding cooperation with the State of Qatar, the press service of the ministry said. During this meeting, the sides discussed the current status of bilateral cooperation and the possibility of expanding and intensifying it. The economy minister of Kyrgyzstan expressed gratitude to the Government of the State of Qatar for the support provided to Kyrgyzstan in various directions. In addition, the minister and the ambassador debated promising areas of trade and economic cooperation and deepening of relations in Halal industry, as well as issues of comprehensive assistance in expanding and facilitating trade turnover between the countries. The Qatari side noted a high interest in cooperation in the Halal industry and imports of agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan, including by working out the issue of establishing a trade and logistics center in the territory of Kyrgyzstan. Besides, Akylbek Zhaparov and Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Sulaiti considered a number of issues in different directions, causing mutual interest, including the possibility of holding the second meeting of the Kyrgyz-Qatari Intergovernmental Commission in Bishkek, where certain agreements on them were reached.
