Kyrgyz defense minister attends joint CSTO meetings in Dushanbe

Minister of Defense of Kyrgyzstan Baktybek Bekbolotov took part in a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The press service of the Kyrgyz Defense Ministry reported that the meeting participants discussed the military-political situation in the CSTO area of responsibility, focusing on the Central Asian region. During the joint meeting, CSTI defense ministers signed documents on the development of the military component of the organization, drafted by the CSTO Joint Staff. A plan to improve the system of joint training of military personnel for the armed forces of CSTO member states and recommendations on the procedure for cooperation between military educational institutions of CSTO member states were approved. A number of other agreements aimed at strengthening the collective security of CSTO member states were reached as a result of the joint meeting.
