Turkey’s president: Iran is especially important for us

Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul, who is visiting Syria, said relations with Iran is especially important for his country.

In a joint press conference here on Friday evening, Gul said that Iran is a good neighbor for Turkey and the two countries have the best ties.
He added Tehran has a problem in the world community and Turkey is doing its best to solve the problem through diplomatic ways.
President Gul also said that Iran and Syria have good relations and Turkey welcomes such ties.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad also described relations with Tehran very good and added such relations are beneficial for stability in the region.
Turkey’s president heading a high ranking politico-economic delegation arrived in Damascus on Friday for a 3-day visit.
