‘Kyrgyzstan - Land of Short Films’ festival to be held in Bishkek this week

Bishkek, Sept. 13, 2021 . / Kabar / . The Kyrgyz capital city of Bishkek will host on Sept. 14-17 the 10th International Film Festival of CIS countries, the Baltic States and Georgia "Kyrgyzstan – Land of Short Films”. The press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Culture reported that this year’s film festival is timed to the 30th anniversary of independence of Kyrgyzstan. The event will be held with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS countries (IFHC), the Ministry of Culture, Sport, Information and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, the Fund of Cultural Cooperation and Aitysh Public Fund. This year, more than 500 applications from foreign and local filmmakers have been submitted to the film festival. The films will be judged by a jury consisting of famous filmmakers from CIS countries, the Baltic States and Georgia. Grand opening of the film festival will take place on Sept. 14 at 12:00 p.m. in Manas cinema theater. The film festival was founded in 2010 by public and political figure, director, producer Sadyk Sher - Niaz with the aim to development of cultural dialogue between CIS countries, Baltic States and Georgia, preservation of identity and development of traditional cultural values.
