Belarusian deputy PM calls for expansion of economic cooperation with Iran
Belarus First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashkov in a meeting with Iran’s Central Bank Deputy Head Reza Raei called for expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries .
In a meeting in Minsk on Tuesday, Semashkov said that the two countries should create a financial payment structure for expansion of bilateral economic cooperation.
He said that lack of a banking systems between the two countries for financial payments is an obstacle on developing commercial exchanges. He expressed his country’s readiness to solve the problem.
Belarusian deputy PM also expressed his country’s desire to activate executive operation for exploiting joint project of Iran “Jofeyr Oil Field” and added utilizing the oil field has a strategic importance for Belarus.
The Iranian official, for his part, said the issue of financing the project had been solved totally and Iran Central Bank is the source of financing the project.
