The Chargé d'Affairs Of Netherlands Embassy Announces His Country's Participation In Monitoring Iraqi Elections

Baghdad / NINA / - The Chargé d'Affairs of the Netherlands Embassy in Baghdad announced his country's participation in monitoring the Iraqi legislative elections to be held next October.
The parliamentary department said in a statement that the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / received a copy of it: "The head of the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee, Arshad Al-Salihi, hosted today, in the presence of the Deputy Chairman of the Committee, MP Bakhtiar Shaways, Rox Bronck, Chargé d'Affairs of the Netherlands Embassy in Baghdad, to discuss prospects for joint cooperation."
At the outset of the hosting, Al-Salihi stressed the importance of continuing the prospects for joint cooperation between Iraq and the Netherlands, especially in the field of consolidating human rights principles and supporting the pillars of the democratic process in Iraq, expressing his appreciation for the support provided by the Dutch side regarding the legislation of laws related to human rights files, in addition to the provision of assistance through humanitarian organizations.
For his part, the Dutch ambassador stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations between the two sides in a way that serves to enable stability in Iraq, indicating that his government always seeks to provide support in the areas of security and economy and to hold legislative elections in Iraq as they are important to the sustainability of the democratic process, as well as to show appropriate support in enabling parliamentary committee to legislate laws related to human rights.
Bronck indicated: "The Netherlands will have a role with international partners in the United Nations by participating in observing the Iraqi legislative elections scheduled for next October."/ End
