No forced solutions will settle Middle East crisis: Iran

Deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs Mehdi Safari said no forced solutions existed for the Middle East crisis.

Making the remark during a meeting with Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin in Sofia, he outlined Iran’s policies in the region particularly towards Iraq and Afghanistan and said the region would experience peace and tranquility only when foreign forces left the Middle East.

He further stressed that regional conditions never allowed use of force by any country.

Referring to the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, safari said the nation needed atomic energy to cope with future energy crises.

He also called for expansion of ties with Bulgaria and voiced Iran’s readiness to boost bilateral relations.

The Bulgarian foreign minister pointed to Iran’s significant role in the region and hoped Tehran would help develop best solution to the Middle East problems.

He also welcomed Iran’s participation in different energy plans in Europe and said the two countries could cooperate in many different areas including anti-narcotic campaign.
