Cultural center named after Aimatov to be open in Turkey

A cultural center named after Chingiz Aimatov will be open in Turkey, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Kairat Imanaliev told on the air of Birinchi Radio. He said that during the official visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to Turkey, the ministers of culture of the two countries discussed the issue of holding cultural events on the work of Chingiz Aitmatov. “We discussed the opening of the cultural center named after Chingiz Aitmatov in Turkey. The purpose of the opening is that everyone could get acquainted with the culture of the Kyrgyz, strengthening friendship and cooperation between countries, as well as promoting the writer's creativity there. We also signed an agreement to open a center for the Turkish poet and philosopher Yunus Emre in Kyrgyzstan. Such cultural centers will be useful for everyone who is interested in the culture of the two countries,” the minister said. Imanaliev also noted that within the framework of the opening of such centers, together with the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination, it is planned to build a center for Mahmud Kashgari in the village of Barskoon of Issyk-Kul Oblast, where the great philologist and Turkologist was born.
