Permanent rep of Kyrgyzstan to int’l organizations meets with IAEA director general

Bishkek, June 7, 2021 . / Kabar / . Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan to international organizations in Vienna Bakyt Dzhusupov met with Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Mariano Grossi, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported. Dzhusupov thanked the Agency for its timely assistance to Kyrgyzstan in combating COVID-19 by transferring three OT-PCR diagnostic equipment, and welcomed Director General Grossi's initiative to create the ZODIAC program. During the meeting, the constant support from the Agency in capacity building of state experts who are involved in the process of training seminars, IAEA international conferences was noted. Bakyt Dzhusupov expressed confidence in the success of the implementation of the Strategic Master Plan for the Remediation of Uranium Tailings in Kyrgyzstan. For his part, Grossi thanked for the nomination of national administrators to participate in the ZODIAC program. He added the ZODIAC initiative is designed to promote integrated actions to control zoonotic diseases. The IAEA head reiterated the Agency's commitment to further strengthen the capacity of Kyrgyz government agencies and to develop and expand the activities of technical projects.
