Mongolia reports 1177 new cases of COVID-19 and two deaths

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. At the regular press briefing of the Ministry of Health today on June 7, it was reported that 1,177 new cases were detected in Mongolia after testing 6,248 people nationwide within the past 24 hours. More specifically, 867 new cases were detected in the capital city, with 310 cases in rural regions. As of today, the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Mongolia now stands at 66,433. In the past 24 hours, 300 patients made recovery, bringing the total recoveries to 54,081. Furthermore, two new COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, raising the country's death toll to 313. Of the 6,253 patients currently undergoing treatment, there are 3,740 patients in mild, 1,860 in serious, 515 in critical, and 130 in very critical condition. As of today, June 7, a total of 1,872,056 people have received the first dose of vaccines against COVID-19, equal to 90.6 percent of the nationwide vaccination target – 2,067,292 adult populations or 60 percent of the total population of Mongolia. Among them, 1,525,552 people or 73.8 percent of the vaccination target have gotten their second shots. Since the vaccine rollout was launched in February 2021, 956,658 people of Ulaanbaatar city have gotten the first shot of COVID-19 vaccines, and 803,143 people in the capital city have been fully immunized. In rural regions, the number of the fully vaccinated people is at 703,409 and the partially vaccinated – 915,358.
