Transport ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan discuss cooperation issues

Bishkek, May 18, 2021. / Kabar /. Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Gulmira Abdralieva paid a working trip to Osh Oblast. According to the press service of the ministry, Abdaralieva met with Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhamov at the Dostuk checkpoint within the framework of the negotiations between the presidents of the two countries of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The delegations inspected, studied and studied the Osh-Sarytash-Irkeshtam road. The sides inspected the work of the Irkeshtam checkpoint, where they got acquainted with the ongoing work on the development of the multimodal transport corridor Kashgar-Irkeshtam-Osh-Andijan-Tashkent and visited the Chyiyrchyk, Taldyk, Tonmurun passes and the Sary-Tash point. The sides discussed issues of improving the infrastructure in the above sections, creating all conditions for the full and uninterrupted operation of carriers, drivers of the two countries. Equipping the Osh-Sary-Tash-Irkeshtam road with additional road vehicles was especially noted by the road workers due to the difficult climatic conditions in this section. Abdralieva especially noted the relief location of the listed areas, gave instructions to all relevant structural divisions to resolve the above issues. Also, the ministers of transport of the two countries agreed to continue to comprehensively develop and help in creating comfortable conditions for drivers within the framework of the powers of the two state bodies. This meeting will serve the development of trade and economic between the two countries, which further strengthens the friendship between the peoples, the sides concluded.
