Deputy Chairperson of Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Chinese ambassador of China discuss cultural and humanitarian cooperation

Bishkek, May 17, 2021. / Kabar /. Deputy Chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Zhyldyz Bakashova met with Chinese Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Du Dewen. During the meeting, Zhyldyz Bakashova expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for the assistance provided to Kyrgyzstan in providing vaccines against coronavirus infection, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers said. “Increasing the rate of vaccination of the population is a particular priority for the Cabinet of Ministers today. The supply of vaccines produced by Sinopharm as a humanitarian aid from China was very positively received by the Kyrgyz society. I would like to express my gratitude to the Chinese side for the decision to provide Kyrgyzstan with the second batch of vaccines in the amount of 150 thousand doses at no cost,” Bakashova said. The Deputy Chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan noted that the Kyrgyz side highly appreciates the grant assistance provided by the Chinese government for the implementation of socio-economic projects in Kyrgyzstan. “Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my gratitude to the Chinese side for providing a grant to support the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the amount of USD 54 million,” said Zhyldyz Bakashova. She also informed about the ongoing restoration work in the border villages of Batken region, expressing her gratitude to the Chinese side for their willingness to provide assistance to the affected population as a result of the events at the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border. She appealed to the Chinese side with a request to consider the possibility of providing assistance in the restoration of infrastructure and social facilities in Batken region. Ambassador Du Dewen, in turn, stressed that Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation is at a high level, and the traditional friendship between Kyrgyzstan and China, despite the situation with coronavirus infection, is strengthening and continuing to develop. Speaking about the latest events on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border, the ambassador noted that the Chinese side will consider the proposals of the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the provision of appropriate assistance in the restoration of infrastructure or social facilities. The ambassador noted that the recent official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev to China was held at a high substantive level and was very fruitful. During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
