Zhaparov meets with residents of damaged village on Kyrgyz-Tajik border

Bishkek, May 6, 2021 . / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov visited Maksat village of Leilek region, which suffered as a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border.
The visit of the president was held as part of his working trip to Batken Oblast, his press service said.
Zhaparov met with local residents in the territory of the destroyed school, where he himself said a prayer for those killed in the armed conflict.
The president noted that as of today, construction and reconstruction work will begin in Maksat village and other affected villages, and new modern dwellings will be erected instead of the damaged houses.
The construction work is expected to be completed within two months.
He added that a mobile clinic went to Batken Oblast to provide medical care. Thanks to the donor project, such a clinics will visit all regions of the country in turn over the next 5 years and provide free medical services to residents of high-altitude and remote areas.
Zhaparov said in the near future Batken Oblast will be given a special status, families of the victims will be paid compensation of KGS 1 million, assistance will also be provided to the affected businessmen.
The president answered a questions of the local residents, which mainly concerned the provision of support from the state, the process of delimitation and demarcation of borders, pensions and benefits, restoration of lost documents, road rehabilitation, etc.
