Situation at Kyrgyz-Tajik border stable at 9 o'clock - Border Service

Bishkek, May 4, 2021. / Kabar /. As of 9.00 a.m. on May 4, 2021, the situation at the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border is characterized as stable, the public relations and media department of the State Border Service of the State Committee for National Security said.
According to their information, no incidents or shootings were recorded over the past night.
Border guards patrol along the entire Kyrgyz-Tajik state border.
Units and formations of the Border Guard Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, deployed in Batken Oblast, continue to serve in an enhanced mode.
The conflict at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border has started on April 28, when a verbal conflict between the local residents of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan gradually escalated into an armed clash between the military personnel of the countries. The reason for the conflict was the installation of a video surveillance camera by the Tajik side on power transmission poles near the Golovnaya water intake, which is located in Batken region of Kyrgyzstan.
On May 1, the sides agreed to cease fire and withdraw forces to their permanent deployment locations.
According to the latest data, 35 Kyrgyz people died, including a 12-year-old girl and 183 injured as a result of the clashes on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
In total 107 residential buildings, 2 schools, 1 medical station, 1 kindergarten, 1 police building, 10 gas stations, shops were damaged as a result of the clashes.
