Consumables for COVAX vaccination program arrive in Kyrgyzstan

Consumables for vaccination within the Global Mechanism COVAX arrived in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health and Social Development reported Tuesday. 423 thousand syringes and 3,825 boxes for the safe disposal of used syringes/needles for vaccination against coronavirus infection have arrived in Kyrgyzstan as the first batch of supplies. Globally, within the COVAX program, led by the GAVI Vaccine Alliance, WHO, CEPI and UNICEF, this initiative works with manufacturers and partners to procure COVID-19 vaccines as well as transportation, logistics and storage. Consumables have been transferred to the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic for further distribution and use.
