Al-Kaabi: Our Relationship With France Should Be Invested In Building Human Being And Developing Cultural And Human Relations

Baghdad / NINA / -Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi called for investing in the relationship with France in the human building sector and developing cultural and humanitarian relations. Al-Kaabi said, during his meeting with the Chargé d'Affairs of the French Embassy in Baghdad, Jean-Noel Buoneau and his accompanying delegation: "We appreciate the great interest that France shows to our country through the great and many activities carried out by the French embassy in Baghdad, as well as the recent visit of the French president, which is evidence of the importance of Iraq to France" During the meeting, according to a statement by the media office of Al-Kaabi, several files were discussed, including the file of the draft budget law. The deputy speaker of the House of Representatives confirmed: "There is an agreement to pass the law, which is applicable to any draft law, the same mechanism by which laws are passed in most parliaments in the world." He continued: "This law is of great importance at this time in particular, as there are many files that need financial allocations, and there are services that must be provided and projects must be completed." Al-Kaabi welcomed the French initiative with regard to helping Iraq to hold the next parliamentary elections, stressing that it will take place at the same time specified for it, which is 10/10/2021, and Iraq welcomes any initiative and from any country, especially the countries of Europe from which the democratic experiment of the world was launched, and this will add to the elections great transparency while preserving the true guarantees of the will of the Iraqi voter. " It was also agreed upon many programs and activities to be carried out by the French embassy, including increasing the number of academic fellowships for Iraqi students in France, as well as expanding joint cultural, artistic and scientific activities between the two countries and reopening the French Language Institute for those wishing to learn the language, and focusing on French language education in Iraqi schools, where Al-Kaabi stressed the importance of investing in good relations between the two countries in the aspect of investment in building human beings, which is a more beneficial aspect than the rest of the sectors, and it was agreed to resume the exchange of parliamentary visits between the two countries during the next short period The meeting was attended by MP, Alla Talabani, head of the Iraqi-French Relations Committee. / End
