Bishkek, March 24, 2021 . / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov addressed Kyrgyzstanis on the occasion of another anniversary of the March People's Revolution, his press service reported on Wednesday. “The events of March 24, 2005 are remembered as one of the most important in the history of independent Kyrgyzstan. The president stressed common goal of all Kyrgyzstanis is to turn ten country into a developed country. “As long as stability prevails in our country and laws are respected, Kyrgyzstan will inevitably take the path to development. May our citizens work hard for this and stay the course we have chosen. May there always be unity, solidarity and peace in our land!,” President Sadyr Zhaparov concluded his address. The Tulip Revolution or First Kyrgyz Revolution led to President of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akayev's fall from power. The revolution began after parliamentary elections on Feb. 27 and March 13, 2005. The revolutionaries alleged corruption and authoritarianism by Akayev, his family and supporters. Akayev fled to Kazakhstan and then to Russia.
