Kyrgyz president visits children returned from Iraq

Bishkek, March 19, 2021. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov got acquainted with the living conditions and assistance rendered to children who were returned from Iraq, his press service said on Friday. President Zhaparov was informed that on March 16, a total of 79 children were repatriated from Iraq as part of the Meerim humanitarian mission, and then they have been delivered to one of the children's centers in Chui Oblast of the republic . The center has all the conditions for living and recreation. Children are provided with four meals a day. Employees of the Interior Ministry provide round-the-clock security. Relevant specialists are working on children’s re-socialization for further transfer to relatives. The Kyrgyz president toured the facility, the dormitories and the canteen, where he was shown the rations the children are fed. Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the state will make every effort and use all resources to ensure the safety, preservation of life and health of its citizens abroad. Also, he noted the need for widespread assistance in obtaining all guaranteed public services. On March 16 this year, a special flight from Iraq with 79 small Kyrgyzstanis on board arrived in the country. The export of children was carried out with the consent of their mothers who remained in Iraq and the will of relatives in the Kyrgyz Republic to take the children into families for upbringing.
