Kyrgyzstan, Russia agree to develop cooperation in education

Kyrgyzstan’s Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov met on Monday with Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported. "The education sector is one of the priorities area of the Kyrgyz Republic’s development. Educational and humanitarian project as “Russian teacher abroad" will improve the quality of teaching the Russian language, accelerate the exchange of pedagogical experience and introduce new technologies in teaching students," Maripov emphasized. The head of the government expressed gratitude to the Russian side for willingness to implement the project to build Russian-language schools in the Kyrgyz Republic. In turn, Sergey Kravtsov spoke about plans to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of education and the creation of joint educational infrastructure in the Kyrgyz Republic. "The Russian Federation will provide maximum assistance to the Kyrgyz side in the implementation of this project. We are open and ready to share experience on many programs that have a positive effect. The construction of eight schools is planned, for which the work of a detailed study of all related issues related to the area where the construction will be carried out," said the Russian minister. The Kyrgyz prime minister assured that, for its part, the Government will assist in resolving issues related to the construction of new schools. The Education Ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Russia signed a Memorandum on cooperation in creating a joint educational infrastructure in the Kyrgyz Republic, under which the sides approved a Priority Actions Plan for the construction, creation and functioning in the republic of joint general educational organizations with Russian-language teaching.
