Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan to start meeting on border issues

Bishkek, March 15, 2021 / Kabar /. A regular meeting on the border issues with the Tajik side will start today, the press service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported. A regular meeting of the government commissions of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the delimitation and demarcation of the border will be held from 15 to 18 March 2021 in the city of Khujand, Sughd region of Tajikistan, it said. The Kyrgyz delegation is headed by chairman of the intergovernmental commission, head of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, Lieutenant General Kamchybek Tashiev, a similar commission from the Tajik side is headed by chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan, Colonel General Saimumin Yatimov. This is their first meeting as the heads of the special services of the parties, therefore, in addition to discussing issues of delimitation and demarcation of borders, within the framework of bilateral cooperation, it is planned to discuss other topical issues of joint activities of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, including joint counteraction to modern challenges and threats to the security of the two countries, the report said.
