Kyrgyz president’s visit to Uzbekistan to open new page in relations between two countries - director of SCO PDC

Tashkent, March 11, 2021 / Kabar /. The state visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov to Uzbekistan will open a new page in relations between the two countries, Director of the Public Diplomacy Center (PDC) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Uzbekistan Kabuljon Sobirov told in an interview with Kabar correspondent. In his opinion, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, being fraternal and friendly states, build their relations on the basis of cooperation and mutual trust. “Our peoples are linked by centuries-old bonds of friendship and good neighborliness, common history and culture, similarity of languages, traditions and customs. Today, Uzbek-Kyrgyz cooperation is going through the most favorable and meaningful period,” he said. Sobirov believes that the cultural and humanitarian component occupies an important place in bilateral cooperation. The wide celebration of the 90th anniversary of great Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov in Tashkent, the successful holding of the cross Days of Culture and Art - serve as a vivid example of a significant increase in cooperation in this direction. “All these speak of the closeness of positions and the strong desire of the parties to resolve all issues so that the peoples of our fraternal countries live in harmony and prosperity,” the director emphasized. “The relations of mutual respect and trust that have passed the test of time will continue to develop successfully in the interests of both peoples, acquiring a fruitful and stable character,” Sobirov concluded.
