Asian sports ministers meeting winds up

The second Asian Sports Ministers Meeting wound up in Tehran on Wednesday after two days.

Head of Iran's Physical Education Organization Mohammad Aliabadi and Secretary General of Iran's National Olympic Committee Bahram Afsharzadeh delivered speeches at the opening ceremony held on Tuesday.

Some 29 Asian countries and a number of delegations from different Asian sports bodies took part in the event.

The meeting discussed sports cooperation between the Asian states as well as sharing of sports experiences and held special sessions on issues related to sports.

The Asian sports ministers conferred on exploring ways to counter doping and improve sporting facilities in local areas.

The first Asian Sports Ministers Meeting was held in Osaka, Japan, on August 27 in 2007.
