Cross Year between Kyrgyzstan, Russia was another incentive for further development of relations: President Zhaparov

Bishkek, Feb. 19, 2021. / Kabar /. “2020, declared the Cross Year of Russia and Kyrgyzstan, has become another incentive for the further development of relations between our countries. The goals of more than 200 events included in its program were to intensify bilateral interaction and develop direct friendly contacts between citizens of our countries,” Kyrgyz President noted in his article published in Friday’s issue of the governmental newspaper "Slovo Kyrgyzstana". The Kyrgyz leader stressed that the pandemic has made its sudden adjustments to joint plans and not everything that had been planned came to fruition. "We managed to hold the grand opening of the Cross Year, but some of the events had to be reformatted. Both Russia’s Day in Kyrgyzstan and Kyrgyzstan's Independence Day in Russia were held online. On behalf of the multinational people of Kyrgyzstan, I propose to extend the timing of the Cross Year. I am sure that I will find support in this matter from the Russian leadership," said Sadyr Zhaparov. In his "Allied ties" article, President Zhaparov shared his thoughts on the ties uniting the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, the role of the Russian language, and the prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries, his press service reported.
