Kyrgyzstan and Rosatom discuss cooperation in nuclear energy and nuclear medicine

Bishkek, Feb. 18, 2021 / Kabar /. Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Boobek Azhikeyev, within the framework of his working visit to Russia, met with Deputy Head of Rosatom Nikolai Spassky. According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Azhikeyev at the meeting noted the importance of the implementation of the Interstate Target Program aimed at reclamation of territories affected by uranium mining, and expressed hope for fruitful results of this meeting. The sides also discussed the implementation of the Interstate Program, in particular, that all work will be carried out according to the established schedule. The management of Rosatom noted that the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic is a reliable partner in the implementation of the program. In addition, the sides discussed new areas of cooperation: nuclear energy, nuclear medicine. At the end of the meeting, Boobek Azhikeyev noted that the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and invited Nikolai Spassky to Kyrgyzstan as an honored guest.
