Al-Sisi Assures FM Egypt’s Pride In Its Historical Relations With Iraq And Its Keenness To Enhance Its Arab Role

Baghdad / NINA /- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, and affirmed Egypt's pride in the historical relations with Iraq and its keenness to enhance its national role.
The Egyptian presidency said in a statement that the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) received a copy of it: "President Al-Sisi met today with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, in the presence of Abbas Kamel, head of General Intelligence, and Ahmed Al-Dulaimi, the Iraqi ambassador in Cairo."
It added: "The Foreign Minister conveyed to President El-Sisi a message from President Barham Salih related to the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, stressing Iraq's keenness to continue intensive coordination and consultation with Egypt at all levels, in light of the strong relations and ties that bring the two countries together, and in light of the importance and pivotal Egyptian role in the region and supports Iraq, in a way that contributes to facing the common challenges that the Arab nation is going through. "
For his part, Sisi affirmed Egypt's pride in the historical relations with brotherly Iraq, and keenness to enhance its Arab national role, as well as providing full support to the Iraqi people in all fields, whether at the bilateral level or within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism with the Kingdom of Jordan, in support of mutual cooperation relations and the process of work, that support the Joint Arab League, as part of Egypt's policy that is based on rational, balanced principles and solid moral principles aimed at achieving stability, progress and prosperity for all.
The meeting witnessed a review of the political and security situation in the region, and the challenges in this regard, and it was agreed to continue mutual consultations between the two countries to restore security and stability.
They also dealt with the overall joint bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as ways to enhance areas of economic, commercial and investment cooperation, in addition to following up the implementation of projects emanating from the tripartite cooperation mechanism with Jordan.
At the end of the meeting, President El-Sisi send greetings through Foreign Minister to the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, and the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi. / End
