Larijani: Islamic Iran does not need to establish an empire
Majlis Speaker Ali said on Monday that Islamic Iran does not need to establish or revive an empire.
He made the remark in a meeting with personnel and high ranking officials of IRGC in charge of security affairs.
“If Iran assists Lebanese Hezbullah or Hamas, this is due to its sense of responsibility as a Muslim country,” he said.
Certain countries of the region are jealous of Iran and try to do mischievous acts to please western countries, he said.
Islamic Iran does not need to set up an empire, he said in response to to an allegation by an Arab head of state that Iran intended to revive the Persian empire.
They should understand this reality and avoid miscalculations, he said.
