Vaccination against COVID-19 in Kyrgyzstan to proceed in three phases

Bishkek, Jan. 22, 2021. /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, vaccination of the population against coronavirus will take place in three stages, two of which will be sponsored by the state, Acting Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliyev said at a briefing.
He specified the Ministry of Health conducted a calculation and passed the information to the Ministry of Finance of the country.
According to Beishenaliyev, first phase of vaccination involves medical workers, the second - 1.2 million people as part of participation in COVAX program. The option to vaccinate people at risk and vulnerable populations is being considered at this stage. In the third phase, vaccination will continue.
"371,000 people are planned to be vaccinated in the first and third stages, it will take KGS 226 million," he said.
Beishenaliyev said the coronavirus cannot be defeated without a vaccine.
"Now the Ministry of Health is preparing the conditions for storing vaccines and is considering the option of providing refrigerators in cooperation with UNICEF," he said.
