MFA of Kyrgyzstan congratulates new US President Biden

Bishkek, Jan. 21, 2021 / Kabar /. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic sent congratulations to the new President of the United States of America, Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. The congratulation text says that the Kyrgyz side welcomes the completion of the process of the transit of state power in the United States. “The Kyrgyz side pays special attention to the development of mutually beneficial Kyrgyz-American relations and confirms its readiness for fruitful joint work with the new Administration of the United States of America. The sides traditionally cooperate on strengthening democratic institutions and promoting human rights in the Kyrgyz Republic. Prospective cooperation is planned for the return of illegally withdrawn from the Kyrgyz Republic assets obtained by criminal means, as well as the fight against corruption and criminals. The Kyrgyz side is interested in the implementation of new projects in the field of economy, investments, health care, education, as well as in the introduction of the latest technologies in all spheres of life. The Kyrgyz side welcomes the decision of the US President to lift the previously unilaterally imposed visa restrictions on citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic. It is also important to note the active measures taken by the state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic to achieve this goal. We regard this decision as evidence of the constructive and open approach of the new US Administration to the issue of human contacts and exchanges between the two countries. We hope that in the spirit of this new approach, the sides will take real steps to further simplify the visa regime between the countries, as previously discussed by the parties. The Kyrgyz side welcomes the decision of the President of the United States to intensify cooperation on multilateral platforms on issues such as combating drug trafficking and organized crime, strengthening measures to combat coronavirus infection, and promoting common human values. In this regard, we also welcome the decision to return the United States to the Paris Agreement on climate change. As a party to this agreement, the Kyrgyz Republic hopes for fruitful cooperation between the parties in the field of climate change and ecology. The Kyrgyz side welcomes further joint steps aimed at strengthening friendly relations between the two countries in the long term," says in the congratulation.
