Iran, South Korea have strong cultural ties
South Korean official said here on Sunday that although Iran and his country are distant from each other geographically, they are 'neighbors in terms of cultural exchanges'.
Addressing a commercial cultural ceremony themed 'Bright Korean Night' held in Dasht-e Behesht, Tehran, South Korea's deputy minister of culture and tourism, Ji-Min Shin added that Iran not only boasts of huge oil reserves but it also has a rich history and great civilization.
Describing Tehran as a beautiful city blending modernization with ancient history, he noted that Iran served as a bridge between the East and West in ancient times.
"There is a street in Seoul named after Tehran as there is a street in Tehran called Seoul," he said, adding that the level of exchanges in the culture and tourism sectors have grown since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
