Syria seeks using Iran’s experience on Thalassemias
Head of Damascus Center for Fighting Thalassemias called for taking advantage of Iran’s experience in the field of treating the disease.
Talking to IRNA on the sidelines of regional meeting of International Federation of Thalassemias, Towfiq Al-Ebrahim said that Iran has unique experience in the field of Thalassemias treatment and stem cells transplant.
He added that his country has called on Iran to set up a center to that effect there.
There are some Thalassemias-infected patients in Syria, treatment of whom is not possible due to shortage of facilities, Al-Ebrahim said.
Some 350 specialists from 18 countries including Iran attended the two-day event, which ended in Damascus today.
