Delegations of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan agree to intensify work on delimitation of state border

Bishkek, Dec. 16, 2020 / Kabar /. A joint meeting of the governmental delegations of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan was held on delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border, the press service of the Kyrgyz government reported. The sides expressed full mutual understanding in the need to revitalize the work of government delegations, which has slowed down due to the coronavirus pandemic. During the meeting, a detailed exchange of views took place on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border, including the discussion of further work of topographic working groups to describe the passage of the project line of the state border, as well as issues of ensuring the safety of citizens living in border areas. The meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere, the sides reached an agreement on the resumption of bilateral negotiations of the topographic working groups and the continuation of work on the description of the project line in the remaining sections. As a result, the final Protocol of the meeting was signed, and an agreement was reached on holding the next meeting on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
