Ministry of Labor and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan and FAO to continue cooperation

Bishkek, Dec. 15, 2020 / Kabar /. The Minister of Labor and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan Aliza Soltonbekova and FAO representative in the Kyrgyz Republic Quereshi Adnan discussed further bilateral cooperation, the press service of the ministry said. Aliza Soltonbekova thanked the FAO Representation for the successful implementation of the project aimed at supporting and developing entrepreneurship of rural women in Kyrgyzstan. In turn, Quereshi Adnan noted that social protection and food security of the population is one of the key areas for FAO. Also, he expressed his intention to continue close cooperation on the "Productive Social Contract / Cash Plus" project. The minister said that the implementation of this project had a positive impact on the consciousness of the local population. Citizens began to think about proper nutrition, proper distribution of time, and an interest in entrepreneurship appeared. She also noted that in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, a difficult economic situation has developed in the country, which has led to an increase in the number of unemployed citizens. The Ministry will focus its efforts on active measures to support vulnerable groups of the population within the framework of the “Productive Social Contract / Cash Plus” projects.
