Bishkek hosts meeting of Kyrgyz and Uzbek government delegations on border delimitation

Bishkek, Dec. 15, 2020. /Kabar/. A joint meeting of government delegations of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border is taking place at Ala-Archa state residence.
According to the Kyrgyz Government's press service, the delegation from the Kyrgyz side is headed by Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, head of the delegation Kamchybek Tashiyev, and Uzbekistan is represented by Advisor to the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan in the rank of Deputy Prime Minister Mehriddin Khairiddinov.
Welcoming the members of the Uzbek delegation, Kamchybek Tashiyev noted Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the speedy completion of the legal registration of the state border with Uzbekistan.
"Living in the neighborhood for many centuries, having close friendly relations and kinship ties, we should take care of the earliest completion of the delimitation of the remaining sections, as well as start work on the demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border in accordance with the Treaty signed in 2017 in order to create favorable conditions for our citizens,” the head of the Kyrgyz delegation noted.
Further, in accordance with the agenda of the meeting, the topographic working groups started discussing the delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border.
