Kyrgyzstan asks Great Britain to help in providing coronavirus vaccine

Bishkek, Dec. 10, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan's Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev held on Wednesday a videoconference with Minister for European Neighborhood and the Americas of the United Kingdom Wendy Morton, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.
During the conversation, Wendy Morton expressed interest in the development of the domestic political situation in Kyrgyzstan.
Minister Kazakbaev informed the interlocutor that the situation in the country is stable, the ongoing political processes have been returned to the legal field, all branches of government of the Kyrgyz Republic are legitimate.
He also noted the people of Kyrgyzstan is the only source of power, and currently there are active discussions in society on all issues related to changes in the new Constitution.
Further, the sides discussed the preparation for the Conference of the Parties (COP-26) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, to be held on Nov. 1-12, 2021 in Glasgow, UK.
Minister Morton expressed hope for the participation of the Kyrgyz side in the Conference.
The Kyrgyz foreign minister informed about the work being done in Kyrgyzstan to effectively implement the Paris Agreement, ratified by the republic in November 2019.
The sides also exchanged views on topical issues of bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Great Britain in political, trade and economic spheres.
The Kyrgyz side also expressed a request to the British side to consider the possibility of rendering assistance in providing coronavirus vaccines for vaccination of vulnerable groups of population (medical workers, teachers, elderly people).
