Kyrgyzstan sees decrease in incidence of influenza and ODS: ministry

Bishkek, Dec. 8, 2020. /Kabar/. Reduced incidence of ODS and influenza is a result of wearing masks, Head of the Public Health Department of Kyrgyzstan’s Health Ministry Ainura Akmatova said during a briefing on Tuesday. She noted that according to the Health Ministry’s data, the increase in the incidence of influenza is usually observed since December, reaching its peak in late December and January. In 49 weeks, on Nov. 30 – Dec. 6 there is a decline in the incidence of acute respiratory infections by 10.3% compared to last week (48 weeks on Nov. 23-29), 2,430 cases were registered against 2,706. In comparison with the same week of 2019, the incidence is 2 times lower (49 weeks of 2019- 4931 cases were recorded, i.e. 78.0 cases per 100 thousand population).
