Lavrov: Various MoU With Iraq About To Be Completed, And We Are Ready To Meet Iraq's Requests In Armament

Baghdad / NINA /- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, "Various memoranda of understanding with Iraq are about to be completed." Lavrov said in a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in Moscow, "We are serious about developing relations with Iraq and are ready to fulfill its requests in the field of armaments. " He added, "The Iraqi defense minister will visit Moscow to discuss military cooperation and armament ,and we are ready to expand work in the field of education." He continued: "Our relations with Iraq do not prevent it from having relations with the West and neighboring countries, and various memoranda of understanding are about to be completed with Iraq." For his part, Fuad Hussein, Minister of Foreign Affairs, said, "We discussed with Lavrov the challenges of the region and joint work to confront them, and we touched on the Iraqi security situation and its relationship with neighboring countries." He added, "We thank the Russian government for cooperating with us to combat terrorism, and we are working to activate 14 memoranda of understanding with Russia," noting: "Memoranda of understanding with Russia will be signed next year 2021, and include several sectors, including education and health."
