Czech PM pledges to maintain ODA for Vietnam
Prague (VNA) - The Czech Republic 's Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek has said that his country is eager to broaden the cooperation with Vietnam and will maintain uninterrupted ODA granting to the Asian country.
The Czech leader made the statement while meeting with Vietnam 's National
Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong on April 28.
PM Topolanek highlighted the close rapport between the two countries and said his
country in the position of the EU rotating President has paid attention to
strengthening and developing the EU-ASEAN relations.
The PM also expressed his deep sympathy with the Vietnamese guest workers who
lost their jobs in the Czech. He stressed that the two countries should
coordinate to help these workers find stable employment.
Chairman Trong spoke of his strong impressions from his first visit to the
Czech Republic . He said the long-lasting relations between the two countries
now are continuing to develop in various fields with bilateral agreements on
cooperation in economy, trade and labour.
Chairman Trong affirmed that Vietnam has attached importance to expanding its
relations with the Czech Republic in both bilateral and multilateral
aspects.
He said his visit was aimed to boost the traditional relations between the two
countries, and to step up the implementation of signed agreements, particularly
those in economy and trade.
The Vietnamese leader thanked the Czech Republic for its support to Vietnam
at international forums and its ODA priority for the country.
He said in the context of the global financial storm, the two sides should
further exchange experiences and cooperate with each other to minimise the
damages and ensure sustainable development.
He expressed his hope that the Czech Republic in its capacity as EU President
would continue assisting Vietnam to develop its relations with the EU, adding
Vietnam was also eager to serve as a bridge between the Czech Republic and
the ASEAN.
Later on the day, Chairman Trong and his entourage left Prague for Belarus ,
the last leg of his European tour beginning on April 22.
After landing on the Minsk Airport , he told the press that the visit aims to
fortify the traditional ties and multilateral cooperation between Vietnam and
Belarus , especially in economy, trade and legislation.
He said the two countries' ties over recent years have made progress in almost
all fields, ranging from politic to economy, culture and education.
Trong is scheduled to meet with the Chairmen of the House of Representatives and
the Council of Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus on April 29. The two
legislative bodies will sign an agreement on cooperation on the same day.-Enditem
