Belarus plans to provide educational grants to Kyrgyz students

Bishkek, Nov. 17, 2020 / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev received Ambassador of Belarus to the Kyrgyz Republic Andrei Strachko on Nov. 16, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported. Ambassador Strachko congratulated Kazakbaev on his appointment to the post of minister and wished him further success in his work. Minister Kazakbaev informed the ambassador about the current internal political situation in Kyrgyzstan and upcoming important political events. The sides noted with satisfaction the achieved level of bilateral dialogue, considered the schedule of upcoming events and visits, discussed the possibility of holding political inter-MFA consultations. The Kyrgyz minister, noting the importance of continuing cooperation between the two countries within the framework of regional associations, emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation and build up investment cooperation, and suggested working on the implementation of specific business projects. He especially stressed the importance of transferring all the agreements reached into a practical plane. At the same time, he expressed the wish that political events do not become an obstacle to the intensification of bilateral relations, especially in the trade and economic sphere. Ambassador Strachko noted with satisfaction the results of the regular meeting of the joint Inter-governmental commission that took place in February this year, stressed the importance of implementing the agreements already reached, and expressed his readiness to develop joint projects for the construction of production facilities. During the conversation, a range of topical issues in the cultural and humanitarian sphere was also discussed, in particular, the Belarus ambassador informed about the interest of the Belarusian side in attracting students from the Kyrgyz Republic, about the decision to provide grants for free education.
