Kazakhstan implementing 'Smart city' digital projects in transport, construction sectors

The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan is implementing ‘Smart City’ digital projects in the field of transport, housing and communal services and construction, Trend reports citing the ministry.
Electronic projects in multi-apartment residential buildings
The ministry is building a dialogue between domestic IT companies and local executive bodies to scale ready-made IT solutions that automate the processes of the housing stock.
To optimize relationships with KSK, management companies, mobile applications, and other tools are being introduced. For example, projects such as Top ksk, E-ksk, BIG (BI clients), E-knot, Smart House, Integro: electronic housing and communal services, Electronic certification of residential buildings, OSI are already in operation.
With the help of these tools, tenants can submit an application to resolve various problems to the management company, initiate a tenant meeting, receive notifications about votes, accidents, and outages, receive reports on the activities of the management company, and more.
Similar solutions have already been implemented by domestic IT companies in 16 regions of the country (14,182 houses and 482,544 apartments).
Digitization of engineering networks
Together with the akimats, the Ministry is working on digitizing and filling data on the engineering infrastructure of the built-up area using regional geographic information systems (RGIS) and transferring them to the city cadastre database.
The three leaders in terms of RGIS technical readiness included Aktobe (87.2%), Atyrau (85%), and Almaty (83.6%) regions.
Test integration with RGIS in West Kazakhstan and Almaty regions was carried out. 15 regions are technically ready for integration with the state cadastre system.
Installation of "smart" heat and water meters
In 13 regions of the country, the level of equipment of apartment buildings with heat metering devices with remote data transmission is more than 50%.
In four regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the level of equipping with "smart" water meters is more than 70% (Shymkent - 100%, Almaty - 93%, Nur-Sultan - 93%, Aktobe - 72%). Work is underway to achieve such indicators in other regions, preferential financing terms have been introduced.
Electronic fare collection system for public transport
An electronic payment system for public transport has been introduced in nine cities of regional and republican significance (Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Kokshetau, Atyrau, Aktau, Kyzylorda (partially), Taraz, Karaganda (pilot) and Shymkent).
By the end of 2020, it is planned to launch the system in five more cities (Taldykorgan, Pavlodar, Ust-Kamennogorsk, Aktobe, Kostanay).
