Iranian, Russian ministers discuss ways of expanding cooperation

Minister of Economics and Finance in a meeting with his Russian counterpart on the sidelines of a joint meeting of World Bank and International Monetary Fund discussed ways of expanding cooperation between the two countries.

According to the report of Economic Ministry Public Relations Office on Tuesday, in the meeting, Shamseddin Hosseini said that current world economic situation shows why and how developing and developed countries should have better and stronger cooperation.
He added that existing economic potentials in the two countries indicate that investment and economic cooperation can be promoted rapidly.
Concerning investment cooperation between Iran and Russia, Hosseini explained Iran’s economic situation to his Russian counterpart and invited the Russian senior officials to attend next month international investment conference here in Tehran.
Russia’s Minister of Economics Aleksey Kudrin, by referring to increased consultations between the two countries in the economic field, expressed his country’s interest in investment in the fields of oil, energy and other industrial and agricultural sectors and recommended that a special committee for following and implementing agreements be established.
