Project on reducing migrants’ vulnerability to be implemented in Orkhon aimag

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Governor and Chairman of the Citizens Representatives Khural of Orkhon aimag received Victor Lutenco, Programme Manager at UN Migration Agency, International Organization for Migration (IOM), who is on a working trip to the aimag. Emphasizing that internal migration plays pivotal role in prosperity of Mongolia, Mr. Victor Lutenco shared views on further cooperation possibilities with Erdenet city. He also noted that the project on reducing migrants’ vulnerability will be carried out in Erdenet city. As a result of the meeting, the sides agreed to cooperate in collecting data on migration of Erdenet city. Mongolia has been maintaining stable cooperation with the International Organization for Migration since joining in 2008. The organization works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners and works to promote humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all and to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems.
