Kyrgyz FM Kazakbayev receives British Ambassador Charles Garrett

Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2020. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbayev received on Tuesday British Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Charles Garrett. According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, Charles Garrett congratulated Kazakbayev on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and wished him further success in work. During the meeting, Minister Kazakbayev informed the interlocutor about the current domestic political situation in Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing that the ongoing political processes have returned to the legal field, all branches of government in the republic are legitimate, and the executive authorities continue to operate in a normal mode. The Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude to the British Government for the statement made to support democratic processes and the rule of law in the Kyrgyz Republic. The parties exchanged views on topical issues of bilateral cooperation in political, trade and economic spheres. Taking into account the large volume of trade turnover with Great Britain in the form of gold export from the Kyrgyz Republic, the emphasis was placed on the need to diversify the supply of products and goods to the UK. Issues of cooperation in adaptation to climate change, ecology, as well as in other areas of mutual interest were discussed. The schedule of events on the bilateral agenda of cooperation was considered. The sides paid special attention to the cooperation issue on return of illegally withdrawn assets to the Kyrgyz Republic.
