Kyrgyz-Russian relations in military sphere to be developed further to ensure regional stability and security

Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2020. / Kabar /. Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan, Major General Taalaibek Omuraliev met with Ambassador of Russia to Kyrgyzstan Nikolai Udovichenko. The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that this is the first meeting in the field of international cooperation of Major General Omuraliev after his appointment as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on joint steps in the field of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation. Omuraliev thanked the Russian side for the radiation-chemical and biological protection property provided this summer to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and the sending of a team of military doctors during the period of complication of the epidemic situation in the republic, and also confirmed its readiness to further strengthen the strategic partnership. The sides noted that the issues related to the functioning of the United Russian military base on the territory of Kyrgyzstan should be considered in terms of improving its quality component. In turn, Nikolai Udovichenko assured that Russia will continue to implement the planned measures in the military and military-technical areas, and also in the near future will take measures for step-by-step implementation of the previously reached interstate agreements in the financial and economic sphere. The sides expressed confidence that the Kyrgyz-Russian relations in the military sphere will continue to develop and strengthen in the interests of ensuring regional stability and security.
