Mottaki confers with Afghan and Pakistani FMs

Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki took part in a meeting of the foreign ministers of Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan here Monday evening.

Mottaki discussed issues of mutual interests talks with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Afghan counterpart Rangin Dadfar Spanta.

At the end of the meeting, he called on Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

In the meeting, Karzai expressed support for the decisions taken at the trilateral meeting.

The Afghan president also called for boosting peace, security and stability in the three countries.

The meeting also paved the way for a summit of the three neighboring states in Tehran in near future.

The trilateral meeting was aimed at finding avenues to resolve regional issues.

Mottaki left Tehran this morning for Kabul to attend the foreign ministerial meeting of Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
