OSCE LEOM head arrived in Kyrgyzstan as elections observer, ombudsman receives him

Bishkek, Oct. 2, 2020. /Kabar/. Thomas Bozerup, the head of the Limited Election Observation Mission (LEOM) of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) has arrived in Kyrgyzstan to participate as observer in the parliamentary elections to be held on Oct. 4, 2020.
Ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan Tokon Mamytov received representatives of the mission lead by Thomas Bozerup, as well as legal analyst Armen Mazmanyan and elections specialist Andrei Krasnyansky, who have arrived in the republic as observers.
At the meeting, Thomas Bozerup thanked Ombudsman Tokon Mamytov for the opportunity of this meeting and the establishment of constructive contacts between the LEOM and the Office of the Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the talks, the parties discussed the importance of strengthening the foundations of democracy and human rights protection, among which one of the basic is the right of a citizen to elect and be elected, and expressed mutual hope that the upcoming parliamentary elections will be held in compliance with all legislative norms of Kyrgyzstan and the international community.
